Washington, DC – October 20, 2015 – For two days, October 29-30th, Netwalking, LLC will host several sessions at the 2nd Annual National Walking Summit hosted at The Hyatt Regency presented by “The Every Body Walk! Collaborative and America Walks.”

A special feature about the Netwalking® sessions is that seven speakers will come along on the netwalk to discuss the future of health, the importance of healthy communities and exercise. Speakers include Vanessa Garrison, a national inspritator and leader co-founder of Girl Trek; Ken Rose, Acting Branch Chief of the CDC Physical Activity and Health Program Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity and is a long-time leader on connecting public health and the build environment issues; Marla Hollander, National Partnerships Manager for the Voices for Healthy Kids; Barbara McCann, the Director, Office of Safety, Energy and Environment at the US Department of Transportation; Gil Penalosa, Founder and Chair of the Board of 8 80 Cities; and Dr. Bob Sallis, a family physician and sports medicine expert.

We highly enjoyed the inaugural Walking Summit in Washington, DC in 2013. And this year, we are happy to play a bigger role by taking the participants on insightful netwalks around the nation’s capital and having a talk on “Exploring Walking from a Woman’s Point of View,” said Netwalking founder, Jessica Tunon.

“Walking can improve our health, reduce our healthcare costs, provide equal transportation access for everyone, clean our environment, improve the economic viability of our downtowns, and more. America Walks is excited to feature Netwalks at the National Walking Summit, as way to walk our talk, pairing conference participants to learn from leaders and visionaries to discuss issues pertinent to their work while walking and seeing great sites,” said Scott Bricker, Executive Director of America Walks.

The National Walking Summit is the premier opportunity for national organizations, companies, agencies, and local partners to convene to share best practices and stories, increase the visibility of these key issues, build support among federal agencies, and create momentum for the work ahead.
